Adrie van de Ven.

Born 28th of may 1956 in Cuijk (The Netherlands). After secundary school, he went to the Pedagogic Academy. Drawing, painting and history were his specializations. He worked from 1979 till 1992 on various schools in Cuijk. From 1992 till 1999 Adrie worked on Bonaire (Netherland Antilles) at the Papa Cornesschool. After marrying his Bonairean Mila, he went back to the Netherlands, teaching lessons at  primary school The Harlekijn in his hometown Cuijk. In 1999 they went back to Bonaire. At this moment they both teach at the Papa Cornesschool. During his years as a teacher, Adrie followed different courses; painting, drawing portraits, photography and screen painting to increase the quality of his work. 

Momentary is Adrie, besides painting, very busy with the art of etching. An old technique and for the moment unique for Bonaire. Most of Adrie's paintings have Bonairean subjects and especially Iguana's have his bright interest.     Several of his iguana paintings were printed in glicee.
